War is drawing nigh. It is being sparked through film. I despise the actions of a few that will bring America into a sectarian war, not only as an atheist, but as a Secular Humanist.
The fuse is a video is titled. “Innocence of Muslims.” I have watched it in its entirety. Click here to watch the trailer for the video. Warning, even this is despicable.
It will be a religious war that American Christian extremists want to start and Arab Muslims extremists seek to propagate. A war based on mythologies, the “holy” books of those mythologies, and interpretations that do not agree with the mainstream of those religions.
It is Sam Bacile, the alias for Nakoula Basseley Nakoula of southern California and Alan Roberts, who are at the center of this controversy. It is the infamous Rev. Terry Jones, known only for his anti-Muslim sentiment who is adding fuel to the fire.
It is ultra-fundamentalist Christians who misquote, mistranslate and misinterpret the Christian Bible in the attempt to bring America into another war that is not justified.
It is the fundamentalist Muslim extremists who misquote, mistranslate and misinterpret the Quran in an attempt to bring the Arab nations into a war not justified.
It is the ultra-orthodox Jewish extremists who misquote, mistranslate and misinterpret the Torah and Talmud in an attempt to bring Judaism and Israel into a war not justified.
It is American presidential candidate Mitt Romney using the attacks on the American Embassies and the death of American Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens as a political tool to attack the Obama administration instead of focusing on the attacks themselves.
All seemingly to want to bring war to American and Middle Eastern soil.
If you believe that the United States and Israel will survive because we are “God’s chosen,” you are wrong. Not because faith is based on mythology. It is the unfounded belief that each religion or sect is superior to all others and all must kowtow to “their” beliefs and god(s).
It is the denial that all three religions pray to the same god and believe in the same Jewish prophets, though do not recognize the prophets that came after; as the Christians added Jesus and the Apostils, and the Muslims added Mohammed.
Let me make myself clear. Nothing justifies the production of “Innocence of Muslims,” the deep-seated hatred, the violence or the deaths as a designed end. Nothing.
Yes, it seems that the film is protected under the American First Amendment’s Freedom of Expression clause, but even this right has its limitation. Causing acts of violence as a direct result and purpose is one.
However, it is my position that the producers and distributors of this video should be charged with treason for inciting world conflicts and violence against the Americans and as the direct causation of the death of Ambassador Stevens.
As an American I despise men and women of violence, prejudice, bigotry and hatred. I condemn those who have made and distributed this video in what appears to be an attempt of starting a world religious conflict. I condemn those who used violence, resulting in the death of an American State Department employee and Ambassador Stevens to protest the making and showing of this video.
All of these actions are inhumane and a threat to the very existence of humanity. Above all else, I believe they represent treason against the government of the United States of America.
I want you to take an immediate action. Watch the video then sign the petition.
Please sign the Change.org petition calling for the investigation and prosecution of those responsible for producing and distributing this video for the sole purpose to incite a religious war involving the United States.
