Newtown Shooting – Mike Huckabee and God – Part Two

Not 8 hours. He could not wait 8-hours before Mike Huckabee blamed the massacre in Newtown, Conn. on the lack of god in the classroom.

220px-Mike_Huckabee_by_Gage_Skidmore_2Huckybaby told Fox News, “We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?”  (3:00 minute mark.)

He continued, “We don’t have a crime problem, a gun problem or even a violence problem. What we have is a sin problem.”

This is truly a “WTF!” moment and I do not lend myself to cussing.

Is this the level of vengeance of a loving god? Killing incident children, mothers and fathers because the United States has a law preventing the government from endorsing any religion and accepting all religions?

Is this the Christian god who told his disciples to turn the other cheek, to love our neighbor, to cherish those around us, even if they are not our own?

Quite frankly, I want nothing to do with this god, Huckabee’s god. The god of those who believe vengeance is better than peace, that war is better than life, that fear in this god is the only way to be good.

Is this the god you want me to follow? A god who throughout his mythological existence has wreaked havoc, killed, destroyed and caused more sorrow than He/She/It has done good?

You got to be kidding me?

jesus-gunThese words could not have come from the mouth of a man of faith. These words could not have come from the mouth of a man who wanted to be President. These words could not have come from the mouth of a rational or sane person.

Mr. Huckabee must have been on some pharmaceutical (available through the corner druggie) to come out and blame the unwarranted killing of 27 and the madness of the gunman on god being left out of public schools.

I am waiting for Pat Robertson to blame the atheists for the killings, as he did earlier this year after the Sikh temple massacre in Oak Creek, Wisc., or any damage or violence against “a Baptist church, or a Catholic church, or a Muslim mosque,” because “atheists hate God.

People ask why I do not believe in god or the supernatural or the mythologies of the western or eastern faiths. This is the reason why. When humanity is ignored by the purveyors of mythology for something that they cannot see, or feel, or touch, or hear. For something that they cannot prove exists other than by using the mythology itself.

I do not hate Christians or Jews or any other person of any other faith. I hate idiots and fools; and quite frankly, Mike Huckabee is an idiot. Oh, I know he is a doctor and quite intelligent  but I fear that his synaptic nerves are no longer talking to each other.

God did not kill those children, mothers and fathers. God did not order the killings. It was a mortal with at least three weapons who shot each one of those 27 people in cold blood. We will learn, in the coming weeks, why.

What we do know today it was not because of systematically removing God from our schools or the First Amendment. God had nothing to do with this mass murder.
